The Art of Massage

Because...healing happens when you're horizontal.

The Best Massage For You

While on my table, I combine several massage and bodywork modalities in order to create the best massage for your body and meet your needs, based upon what you share with me at the beginning of each session. I will begin with relaxation techniques first and foremost to quiet your busy mind. I understand almost everybody (and every body) desires a bit of deep tissue in their trouble spots, so that you will receive. For a deeper and more effective muscle tissue release, shiatsu stretch is incorporated into the massage to address your shoulders, hips, and that nagging lower back.

A Client Describes His Kriya Massage Experience

"

Diane Lane possesses a truly magical touch, channeling healing energy through her hands with every Kriya massage. Her therapeutic abilities transcend the physical, awakening deep relaxation and renewal within the body and spirit. With warming energy that flows like a gentle current, she intuitively dissolves tension, guiding each person toward balance, peace, and inner vitality. Her sessions feel less like treatment and more like a sacred, soul-nourishing experience.

Kriya like Swedish
only so much more wonderful

My signature massage is Kriya Massage, which is defined by Founder, Kamala Renner, as "an intuitively guided, holistic approach to massage." Kriya is about the intuitive movement of energy; during massage, stagnant energy. Somewhat similar to Lomi Lomi with long, soothing, and expansive strokes, your Kriya massage experience will feel relaxing, nurturing, and "hurts so good" deep in targeted trouble spots. Kriya is thoroughly effective for meeting your body where it's at.

In your Kriya massage, your neck, back, and shoulders, along with your forearms and calves, are my areas of expertise.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that's mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues.

This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue. It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Myofascial Release Massage

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a soft tissue therapy for the treatment of skeletal muscle immobility and pain. The method engages the myofascial tissue and holds it with constant stretch/force until a release occurs.

This technique will ideally help restore motion, release torsions - or holding patterns in the body, and eliminate pain. The pressure applied in myofascial release is usually gentle and sustained over time, allowing the fascia to elongate naturally.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage, also referred to as Manual Lymphatic Drainage, is a form of gentle bodywork - not massage - that encourages the movement of interstitial fluids in the body, specifically directing this fluid, carrying toxins, to the lymph. The fluid in the lymphatic system helps remove waste and toxins from the bodily tissues.

Some health conditions can cause lymph fluid to build up; edema being the most prevalent. Surgeries are a significant example where the use of anesthesia causes the lymphatic system to slow and, therefore, cause edema.

Lymphatic Drainage can benefit people with lymphedema, fibromyalgia, or a basic desire to occasionally detoxify your body.

Cranial-Sacral Massage

Cranial-Sacral

Cranial-Sacral, also known as Cranio-Sacral bodywork, is a gentle alternative method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the cranio-sacral system by using a gentle touch to palpate the synarthrodial joints of the head, spinal column, sacrum, and the underlying structures. This type of bodywork employs a very light touch and uses specifically designed techniques to "unwind" and release restrictions and compression in the head and spinal area.

Pre-Natal Massage

Pre-Natal

Mommies-To-Be LOVE my pre-natal table because there is plenty of room for boobs and baby in the belly…allowing the wonderful pleasure and opportunity to be face down is such a relief !! :) No cushions…no lying on their side.

Totally face down and total relaxation.

A generally lighter massage is performed in order to release the stress and fatigue of carrying an additional 10 or 20 pounds. Some Deep Tissue may be incorporated when and where appropriate. You or your mom-to-be can count on pure nurturing of the muscles, relieving back pressure, and a bit of lymphatic drainage bodywork, if and when there may be edema present.
